Teufel, the Berlin-based audio manufacturer, has announced a range of new products set to launch in 2024. Among them is the Mynd, a unique Bluetooth speaker that stands out from the crowd with its modular design and eco-friendly approach.

A new direction in audio sustainability
The Teufel Mynd represents a significant step forward in the company’s commitment to sustainability. This modular Bluetooth speaker is partially constructed from recycled materials, reducing its environmental impact during production. The device’s design also allows for easier repairs, potentially by customers themselves, marking two important checkboxes on the sustainability list.
Key features and design
The Mynd’s appearance is striking, resembling a prototype with its unconventional design. Some may view it as having a childlike “Lego look,” while others appreciate it as a refreshing departure from traditional speaker aesthetics. Its modular construction offers creative flexibility, allowing users to easily swap out the front panel or attach a 3D-printed wall mount. Teufel plans to release the circuit diagrams, opening up possibilities for DIY enthusiasts.

In terms of sound quality, initial tests have shown promising results. The Mynd can play at high volumes without distortion, fills a room effectively, and offers a surprisingly neutral sound profile with clear bass that avoids excessive resonance. While its design may not be as polished as some competitors, such as the Boomster, its audio performance is comparable.

Technical specifications
While Teufel has not revealed all technical details, the following information is available about the Mynd:
- Over 16 hours of battery life
- Power bank function for charging mobile devices
- Water and dust resistant (IP67 rated)
- Made with recycled materials, customizable, easy to repair, and recyclable at end of life
The Teufel Mynd is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2024. Although pricing has not been finalized, it is expected to be in the range of 250 to 300 euros.
