PS5 Pro: These games make the upgrade worth it

Sony’s announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro has stunned fans, especially with the shocking price of €800. To live up to this cost, the console must deliver significant improvements. According to a preview by CNET, around 40 to 50 games will receive upgrades when the PS5 Pro launches on November 7, 2024 (Source: CNET).

So far, Sony has revealed 13 titles that will fully harness the PS5 Pro’s power at launch. These games include:

  • Alan Wake 2
  • Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
  • Demon’s Souls
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • The Crew Motorfest
  • The First Descendant
  • The Last of Us 2 Remastered

PS5 Pro: How the update will enhance gameplay

During the PS5 presentation, Sony outlined how the console’s technical improvements will impact gameplay. However, viewers had to pay close attention during the YouTube stream to notice the differences in the comparison videos.

The upgrades include enhanced lighting and more detailed character models in Horizon Forbidden West and reflections on cars in Gran Turismo 7. Sony aims to eliminate the need for players to choose between graphics and performance modes. Games shown on the PS5 Pro are expected to look stunning while maintaining smooth performance.

However, gamers will have to dig deep into their pockets for this experience. Whether the PlayStation community will be willing to pay €800 for what might be considered minor graphical improvements remains to be seen.
