As Samsung prepares to unveil its latest high-end tablets, consumers can expect to pay significantly more for the new Galaxy Tab S10 models compared to their predecessors. The company is reportedly eliminating the most affordable version and increasing the prices of the larger models.

The Galaxy Tab S series has consistently improved with each generation, but the prices have also steadily risen. The outgoing Galaxy Tab S9 started at 899 euros, but the new lineup will be considerably more expensive.
According to leaks, Samsung will no longer offer a base Galaxy Tab S10 model. Instead, the entry-level option will be the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus, which is expected to start at 1,258 euros – a significant increase from the 1,119 euros for the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus.
Furthermore, Samsung is said to be offering only the top-of-the-line Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, priced at a starting point of 1,492 euros, up from 1,339 euros for the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Opting for more storage and 5G connectivity will drive the price even higher, with the 1TB 5G version potentially exceeding 2,000 euros.
The lack of a budget option
With the disappearance of the standard Galaxy Tab S10 and the substantial price hikes, Samsung appears to be leaving a significant gap in its tablet lineup. The more affordable Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE Plus models are likely to remain, but they may not provide a viable alternative to the premium iPad Air and Pro tablets with 11-inch displays.
This move by Samsung could potentially hand over a significant portion of the high-end tablet market to Apple, as consumers may be forced to choose between the pricier Galaxy Tab S10 models or the iPad lineup.
